7,877 vehicles sanitized in Delhi under Disinfection Drive

Under the 'Disinfection Drive' started by the Delhi government on Tuesday, 7,877 public service vehicles have been disinfected till the first shift on Wednesday.

New Delhi, March 18 Under the 'Disinfection Drive' started by the Delhi government on Tuesday, 7,877 public service vehicles have been disinfected till the first shift on Wednesday.

"Out of all these, 5,951 auto-rickshaws have been disinfected," the transport department said after it started the drive in the wake of the Coronavirus crisis.

Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot said: "We advise the owner/operators of these public service vehicles to act responsibly and get their vehicles disinfected on a daily basis so that we can overcome this crisis of Corona Virus. We are providing this facility free of cost for everyone."

This service is available in all the DTC and Cluster Bus Depots in two shifts.

The first shift is from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., whereas the second shift is from 4.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.

The government is also issuing a "Certificate of Disinfection" for every sanitized vehicle.

After disinfecting the DTC and Cluster Buses, the Delhi Government extended the Disinfection facilities to other Public Service Vehicles like Auto-Rickshaw, Gramin Sewa, Phat-Phat Sewa, Maxi Cab, Eco-friendly vehicles.
