7th Pay Commission: Resumption of DA, DR from July 2021?, check out Finance Ministry's tweet
The Union Finance Ministry has given a major blow to central government employees and pensioners. The Finance Ministry has said that it has not issued any order regarding the payment of increments in dearness allowance for central government employees and dearness relief for its pensioners. The ministry said no official statement has been issued on the implementation of dearness allowance and dearness relief. The Finance Ministry had last year announced a freeze on the hike in DA and DR till July 2021.
Sharing a picture of an "office memorandum" that talked of the resumption of DA and DR from next month, the Finance Ministry said, "A document is doing rounds on social media claiming resumption of DA to central government employees & dearness relief to Central government pensioners from July 2021. This OM is #FAKE. No such OM has been issued by GOI."
A meeting of the Ministry of Finance, National Council of Joint Consultative Machinery (JCM) and the Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT) was held on June 26 to discuss the implementation of DA, DR from July 1, 2021 and payment of arrears. No statement was issued by the finance ministry or JCM after the meeting.
