Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Saturday strongly criticized Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav for his recent remark linking stench with cowsheds, stating that individuals who make such comments "do not deserve to stay in India." The controversy stems from a comment made by the former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister during a public interaction last month in Kannauj, a city renowned for its perfume industry. In a jibe aimed at the Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government, Akhilesh had mocked the proliferation of cowsheds in the state.
"They like stench, while we built a perfume park," Akhilesh had remarked, contrasting his party's development projects with those of the BJP. Reacting sharply, Mohan Yadav said that such statements insult Indian culture and traditions. “Those who speak against the sacred cow and link it with stench are disrespecting our values. Such people have no place in this country,” he said, addressing reporters.

The comments have sparked a fresh political row, with BJP leaders accusing Akhilesh of undermining cultural sentiments and animal welfare initiatives, while SP supporters defend the remark as a critique of misplaced priorities in development.
