Akshaya Tritiya 2020 also known as Akha Teej, is one of the most auspicious festival celebrated in Hindu and Jain religion. This festival is known for buying gold. It is said that buying gold brings prosperity and good luck. But this year the festival won't be celebrated with much fun as it will be observed amid the COVID-19 lockdown.

This Akshaya Tritiya 2020, will be different as all the jewellery shops will remain shut due to covid-19 lockdown.

According to religious belief, bathing in the holy river on the day of Akshaya Tritiya, worshiping and doing charity work on this festival brings good luck. This festival holds special significance in the Jain community. On this day people of Jain community observe fasting.

On this auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya, Vishnu and Lakshmi are worshiped and offered food with basil leaves.
