Begusarai, Bihar (April 11, 2025): A woman in Bihar’s Begusarai attempted suicide by jumping in front of a moving train but survived due to the quick thinking of the loco pilot. As soon as he saw her on the tracks, he applied emergency brakes and stopped the train in time. A video of the incident shows local residents pulling the woman from under the engine. The footage has gone viral on social media.
According to the regional media reports, the incident took place near Saloana railway station in the Bakri police station area on Thursday morning. A passenger train traveling from Saharsa to Samastipur had just left the station when the woman suddenly jumped onto the tracks. The driver spotted her and immediately applied the brakes, but the train could not stop instantly. She ended up trapped below the engine.
Local residents rushed to the scene and pulled her out from under the train. She suffered injuries to her hand and was given first aid. The woman was carrying an Aadhaar card, which identified her as a resident of Shakarpur village in the Bakri police station area. Reports suggest the woman attempted suicide due to a family dispute. However, she has not spoken about the incident since being rescued.
