CAG Report Debate: AAP's Amanatullah Khan Demands BJP to Prove Corruption Allegations

AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan questioned the validity of the BJP's allegations against him and his party regarding the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report presented in the Delhi Assembly on February 25. He asserted that the CAG report has been with the CBI for a long time without any action and demanded that the BJP substantiate its corruption claims.

"The CAG report they reference has been with the CBI for a long time... I urge them to prove their allegations of corruption. How can they hold elections for Deputy Speaker while all opposition MLAs are suspended? Is that fair?" he told ANI.

He criticized the Delhi government, saying, "You came to power by spreading lies about CAG reports. Now you must deliver on your promises to the public." Meanwhile, BJP MLA Mohan Singh Bisht was elected as the deputy speaker of the Delhi Assembly after being proposed by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. Bisht recently won the Mustafabad constituency, defeating AAP's Adeel Ahmad Khan by over 17,000 votes.

After his election, Bisht stated, "I will do my best to meet the expectations and trust placed in me by the party. I thank Narendra Modi, JP Nadda, the Chief Minister, and Cabinet members."  Regarding the CAG report, he mentioned, "The CAG report will be sent to the PAC, which will provide a full report after three months. All CAG reports will be presented in the Assembly."

The CAG report on the Delhi Excise Policy was tabled in the Assembly on Tuesday, the second day of the session, by newly elected CM Rekha Gupta, highlighting alleged irregularities during the previous AAP government.
