India’s COVID-19 case tally is above 3.08 crore with 37,154 new COVID-19 cases, as per the health ministry’s July 12 update. India has been reporting new covid cases below 50,000 for the past few days. 

As many as 724 new deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, new recoveries at 39,649 in the same period, the July 12 update stated. 

More than 37.73 crore vaccinations have been administered across India, according to the July 12 update. Among states, Maharashtra administered the most (cumulative) vaccine doses at 3.65 crore, followed by Uttar Pradesh at 3.71 crore and Gujarat at 2.78 crore.

India now has 4,50,899 active cases as per the July 12 update. Maharashtra has the highest number of active cases at 1,19,442 in the country followed by Kerala at 1,15,327 and Karnataka at 36,760 Tamil Nadu (32,307). 

Maharashtra reported the most 350 new deaths, as per the July 12 update, followed by Kerala (97), Odisha (65), Karnataka (56) and Tamil Nadu (47). These five states account for majority of all the new deaths reported in the country.

Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli/Daman and Diu, Gujarat, Ladakh, Jharkhand, Lakshadweep, Nagaland, Tripura and Uttarakhand did not report any deaths today.

The total recoveries in India now stand over 3,00,14,713 with the recovery rate at 97.20 percent. Kerala recorded the most new recoveries at (12,502), followed by Maharashtra (6,013),  Andhra Pradesh (3,231), Tamil Nadu (3,188) and Odisha (2,824).

Total COVID-19 deaths in India now stand at 4,08,764 as per July 12 update. The mortality rate is now at 1.32 percent. Total number of tests done on July 11 were 14,32,343. India has vaccinated 37,73,52,501 till now.
