India reported 41,806 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, as per the health ministry’s July 15 update. 

As many as 581 new deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, new recoveries at 39,130 in the same period, the July 15 update stated. 

Among states, Uttar Pradesh administered the most (cumulative) vaccine doses at 3.88 crore, followed by Maharashtra at 3.79 crore and Gujarat at 2.85 crore.

India now has 4,32,041 active cases as per the July 15 update. The active cases constitute 1.39 per cent of the total cases.

Kerala has the highest number of active cases at 1,15,662 in the country followed by Maharashtra at 1,07,691, Karnataka at 34,257, Tamil Nadu at 31,218 and Andhra Pradesh at 26,710. 

Maharashtra reported the most 196 new deaths, as per the July 15 update, followed by Kerala (124), Odisha (68), Karnataka (48) and Tamil Nadu (48). 

Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Bihar, Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli/Daman and Diu, Gujarat, Ladakh, Lakshadweep, Puducherry, Rajasthan and Sikkim did not report any deaths today.

The total recoveries in India now stand over 3,01,43,850 with the recovery rate at 97.28 percent, as per the health ministry’s July 15 update. 

Maharashtra recorded the most new recoveries at 10,978, followed by Kerala at 10,331, Tamil Nadu 3,058, Andhra Pradesh at 3,034 and Odisha at 2,641.

Total COVID-19 deaths in India now stand at 4,11,989 as per July 15 update. The mortality rate is now at 1.33 percent.

India commenced its COVID-19 vaccination drive on January 16 this year. Till date, 39,13,40,491 vaccine doses have been administered so far including 34,97,058 in the last 24 hours, under the nationwide vaccination drive.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, 43,80,11,958 samples have been tested up to July 14 for Covid-19. Of these, 19,43,488 samples were tested on Wednesday.
