Delhi Assembly Elections 2025: AAP Protests Over Mock Poll as Voting Begins in All 70 Constituencies

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers alleged that the mock polling was conducted in their absence ahead of voting on Wednesday, February 5. AAP polling agents were seen arguing with election staff at polling station number 73 at the College of Art at Tilak Marg.

Meanwhile, voting for #DelhiAssemblyElections begins. Eligible voters in all 70 Assembly constituencies are voting in a single phase today. 699 candidates are in the fray. AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal will be contesting against BJP's Parvesh Verma and Congress's Sandeep Dikshit from the New Delhi Assembly constituency. Delhi Chief Minister Atishi will be contesting against BJP's Ramesh Bidhuri and Congress's Alka Lamba in Kalkaji.

Delhi has 1,56,14,000 registered voters, including 83,76,173 males, 72,36,560 females, and 1,267 third-gender voters. The electorate also includes 2,39,905 first-time voters aged 18-19, 1,09,368 elderly voters aged 85 and above, and 79,885 persons with disabilities.

Voting Underway

Congress candidate from the New Delhi constituency, Sandeep Dikshit, alleged that BJP and AAP have distributed money in an attempt to buy votes. "...I have been telling you for 2-3 days not that money is being distributed. Both BJP and AAP are distributing it...I am disappointed that both parties are distributing money in an attempt to buy votes by luring voters..," he added.
