Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who manages the finance department, will present the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report on 'Public Health Infrastructure and Management of Health Services' in the Delhi Assembly on Friday. The report, focusing on the status of government hospitals and health services in 2024, aims to unveil the true state of healthcare in the national capital. This will be the CAG's second report presented in the assembly, reviewing government hospitals, mohalla clinics, and other health facilities.
It will assess the discrepancy between the previous government's claims and reality, including the availability of medical equipment, the supply of medicines, and the number of healthcare professionals. The report may also scrutinize whether the budget allocated to the health sector was utilized effectively, questioning if the promises made for 2022-23 and 2023-24 truly benefitted patients.
The BJP has criticized the previous Delhi government for inadequate healthcare facilities, claiming patients struggle to find treatment and essential medicines. Health Minister Pankaj Singh stated, "The previous government made grand claims about health services, but the reality is different. Everything will be uncovered in the CAG report."
