Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Stops Convoy, Urges Citizens to Avoid Feeding Stray Cows on Roads (Watch Video)

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stopped her convoy on Saturday morning, April 12, after noticing cows roaming on the streets. She urged citizens to refrain from feeding cows on roads and instead visit gaushalas (cow shelters) to ensure the animals' safety and proper care. In a video shared on social media platforms, Delhi CM was seen appealing to a car driver who was feeding roti to the stray cows in the middle of the road. She asked him not to feed the cattle on the busy road and to visit shelters.

In the video, it can be seen that there were long vehicular jams on the road in the national capital as CM Rekha halted her car in the middle of the road to talk to a citizen after noticing him feeding stray cows.

Earlier on March 26, CM Rekha Gupta's convoy narrowly escaped hitting a cow on the Haiderpur Flyover near Shalimar Bagh in the National Capital. The incident took place when her car was travelling at high speed, and suddenly, four to five cows came in between the road, and the driver applied urgent brakes to avoid a major crash.

After this, CM personally got out of her car and intervened, directing officials to implement measures to prevent animals from entering the road and asked the concerned authorities to find proper shelter for stray cattle found on the Haiderpur flyover.

The incident had occurred at the time when CM was coming back from her respective destination after inspecting Delhi Metro pillars.
