Delhi Elections 2025: Congress Releases Third List of 16 Candidates for Upcoming Assembly Polls

The Congress Party on Tuesday released its third list of 16 candidates for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections in 2025. Among the key names are Ariba Khan from Okhla, Dharam Pal Lakda from Mundka, and Krishna Tirath from Patel Nagar. The party also replaced Pramod Kr Jayanti with Ishwar Bagri for the Gokalpur seat.

Other candidates in the new list include Rajesh Gupta from Kirari, Kunwar Karan Singh from Model Town, Jagat Singh from Shahdara, Rajiv Chaudhary from Vishwas Nagar, and Vishesh Tokas from R.K. Puram. Additional names include Prem Sharma from Hari Nagar, Mange Ram from Palam, Kamal Arora from Gandhi Nagar, Harbani Kaur from Janakpuri, and Sushma Yadav from Najafgarh.

With this announcement, the Congress has now declared 63 candidates for the 70-member Delhi Assembly. Earlier, the Congress released a second list of 26 candidates on January 6. The party has also fielded Farhad Suri against AAP leader Manish Sisodia from the Jangpura seat. Additionally, two former AAP MLAs who recently joined Congress—Asim Khan and Devender Sehrawat—will contest from Matia Mahal and Bijwasan, respectively.

The Congress also announced Sandeep Dikshit as its candidate against AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal for the New Delhi seat, while Mahila Congress leader Alka Lamba will challenge Delhi CM Atishi in Kalkaji. Congress has also named Satish Luthra to contest against Satyendra Jain in Shakur Basti, where Jain has won the seat in the last three Assembly elections.

The Delhi Assembly elections will take place on February 5 and the results to be counted on February 8.
