Delhi govt to pay salaries to daily wage labourers

The Delhi government on Friday said it will pay salaries to all contract workers and daily wage labourers whose offices have been declared closed under orders related to coronavirus.

New Delhi, March 20 The Delhi government on Friday said it will pay salaries to all contract workers and daily wage labourers whose offices have been declared closed under orders related to coronavirus.

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Manish Sisodia made the announcement on Twitter in Hindi.

"The Delhi government will pay salaries to all contract workers, daily wage labourers, guest teachers, among others, whose offices have been declared closed under the orders related to coronavirus," Sisodia said.

All the malls, cinema halls, public swimming pools, schools, colleges and dine-in restaurants have been closed in Delhi till March 31, as a preventive measure against the coronavirus.
