A 37-year-old woman, Pooja Devi, tragically died after being struck by a mini truck near the Azadpur Flyover in northwest Delhi’s Adarsh Nagar area, police reported on Saturday. The incident occurred near Balaji Tower on the flyover.
According to police, a PCR call alerted them to the incident. Upon arrival, officers discovered that Pooja Devi, a resident of Bhalswa Dairy, had already been taken to BJRM Hospital. Tragically, doctors declared her dead upon arrival.
The driver of the mini truck, identified as 27-year-old Abhishek, a resident of Govindpuri, was apprehended at the scene by members of the public and subsequently handed over to the police. The vehicle involved in the fatal accident has been impounded by authorities.
"The body has been sent for post-mortem examination and further probe is underway," a police officer stated. The investigation seeks to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
