The manifesto implementation committee in Maharashtra would be in line with the committees setup in other Congress-ruled state.

Deora raising the red flag said while the NCP-Shiv Sena has been busy implementing their agenda, the Congress has not done it so far.

Deora is perceived to be close to Rahul Gandhi and his letter is considered a serious effort to have a prominent say in the running of the state affairs, said an insider.

He wrote: "During the last 50 days, Shiv Sena and NCP have benn working to implement their programs and poll promises; Maharashtra voters have appreciated this effort and are beginning to welcome several decisions."

And added that his party too, should do the same, in order "to consider establishing an effective mechanism in Maharashtra similar to one in Congress-governed states so that the Maharashtra government may speedily deliver on the poll promises made by Congress to the voters of Maharashtra".

Reminding Congress on its poll promises made by Rahul Gandhi to the slum dwellers, he stressed on the need to fulfill the "500 sq feet home" and other schemes that were part of the common minimum programme.

The Congress is in alliance with the Shiv Sena and Nationalist Congress Party in the state and will be completing 100 days.

The alliance is trying to cull differences within the parties and run a smooth government in the state.
