Back-to-back cases of wives murdering their husbands with their lovers are shocking people. A recent case has emerged from the Deoria district of Uttar Pradesh, where a woman and her paramour killed her husband and disposed of his body 55 kilometres away from her residence to avoid arrest. The incident came to light after a trolley bag containing a man's body, cut into two pieces, was recovered from a field on Sunday, April 20.
The victim was identified as 38-year-old Naushad Ahmed, who had returned from Dubai just 10 days ago. His decomposed body was discovered by a farmer in a field under Tarkulwa police station limits, approximately 55 kilometres away from his residence in Bhatauli village, according to a report by The Times of India.
A farmer named Jitendra Giri discovered the body in his field in Hakarpakdi Chapar Patkhauli village when he visited in the morning with a harvester. Upon seeing the abandoned trolley bag lying in the field, he called the police using the emergency dial number 112.

When the police team reached the spot, they found a man's body stuffed in a suitcase, cut into two pieces. The lower part of the body was placed in a sack. Cops also discovered a foreign SIM card, photocopied documents, and a travel barcode bearing an airport tag, which helped confirm the deceased’s identity as Naushad Ahmed.
Body Found in Two Pieces in Bag
With the help of these documents, police reached the victim's residence and discovered another bag with blood stains on it. This gave police a clue that the accused had initially tried to stuff the body in this suitcase but later transferred it to the trolley bag when they failed.
Naushad's wife, Raziya, was taken into custody for questioning. During the interrogation, she confessed to the murder and said that she and her lover—who is also her nephew by relation—killed Naushad because he was becoming an obstacle in their illicit relationship.
According to police sources, the extramarital affair had been a subject of village gossip for some time. Earlier, Naushad had confronted the couple and a village panchayat was held, where it was decided that Raziya would sever ties with her lover. However, the relationship resumed after Naushad returned to Dubai.
ASP Arvind Verma confirmed that Naushad’s murder was driven by his wife's extramarital relationship. Police are currently searching for Raziya's lover, who remains at large.
