Diwali 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Extends Greetings to President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended Diwali greetings to President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday during a visit to Rashtrapati Bhavan. He also met Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar to convey his blessings for the festival. In a heartfelt celebration, Prime Minister Modi commemorated Diwali with brave personnel from the BSF, Army, Navy, and Air Force at Lakki Nala in the Creek Area of Kutch, Gujarat. He expressed pride in the security personnel who stand firm in inhospitable conditions to protect the nation. "The Creek Area of Kutch is both challenging and remote due to extreme temperatures and various environmental challenges," he noted.

During his visit, PM Modi went to one of the floating Border Outposts (BOPs) in the Creek area, where he shared sweets with the dedicated security personnel. He took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his sentiments: "Glad to have celebrated Diwali with our brave personnel from the BSF, Army, Navy, and Air Force at Lakki Nala in the Creek Area, Kutch. This area is both challenging and remote, with scorching hot days and chilly nights."

While extending Diwali wishes to the soldiers, PM Modi lauded their willpower and courage, emphasizing that the country has a government that will not compromise an inch of land on its borders. "Somewhere there are the Himalayas' glaciers with temperatures below zero degrees, while in other places, there are hot deserts with scorching sun and heat. Our soldiers endure numerous challenges, which temper them into a force of steel, instilling fear in the hearts of the enemy," he stated.

Praising the "unshakable willpower" and "immense courage" of the soldiers, PM Modi highlighted their ability to prove themselves in every challenging situation. "When the country looks at you, it sees a guarantee of security and peace. When the world sees you, it recognizes the power of India; when the enemy sees you, it realizes the futility of their evil intentions. When you roar in enthusiasm, terrorists tremble. I am proud that our soldiers have proven themselves under the most challenging conditions," he said.

He concluded with a strong message: "Today, Bharat cannot compromise on even an inch of its borders. Our policies are aligned with the resolve of our armed forces. We trust the determination of our soldiers, not the words of our enemies."
