Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal on Thursday held a live interaction with students and addressed their concerns related to upcoming competitive and board exams.

During his live interaction the minister made a few announcements. 

Are there any plans to cancel NEET exams?Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal said today that there is no plan to cancel the entrance exam.

Will the NEET exams be held online/ offline?Looking at the pandemic situation, whether NEET will be held online/ offline, Pokhroyal said, 'we will find best solution for the students.' The medical entrance exam is being conducted in offline mode.

When will be NEET, JEE Exam 2021 will be help?The dates though not announced as yet, the minister assured that they are trying to share the exam dates for JEE, NEET in advanced with the students. No final dates or tentative dates were shared by the education minister. 

Centre plans to increase number of attempts for JEE?Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal said that it's under consideration to increase the number of attempts for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). 'We are considering to increase the number of attempts for JEE from two to three or four following the suggestions received.'

When will board exams be held?Pokhriyal said that the board exams will be held, and in case if the pandemic situation does not improve in the near future, students will be allowed more time. The minister also did not rule out the option of further reduction of syllabus for board exams and said that it would depend only on the situation

What about 'Alternatives to practical if situation does not improve'?Pokhriyal said that if the schools could not conduct practicals considering the pandemic situation, the alternatives will be arranged

States allowed to reopen schools ?Pokhriyal in his live interaction said that the states will decide on reopening of schools considering the COVIID-19 pandemic situations. "17 states have reopened their schools with minimal attendance, the other states will decide on the basis of the pandemic situations," he said.
