Firozabad Police Destroys 15,000 Litres of Illegal Liquor Worth Rs 1 Crore (Watch Video)
The Firozabad Police in a significant crackdown on illegal liquor trade, under the guidance of Arun Kumar Chaurasia, Circle Officer (CO) City, has successfully destroyed 15,000 litres of illicit Indian and foreign liquor. The operation, which was conducted in accordance with a court order, has been deemed an essential step in curbing the growing menace of illegal alcohol in the region.

The destroyed liquor, valued at approximately Rs 1 crore, was seized during multiple raids across the city in recent months. According to CO Arun Kumar Chaurasia, Foreign and country-made liquor was seized in 10 different cases and was destroyed on behalf of the court's order. The destruction of such large quantities of illicit liquor serves as a stern warning to those involved in illegal activities and reinforces the police's commitment to maintaining law and order in the region.
In a similar operation, in dry state Gujarat, the state police confiscated a staggering 82 lakh bottles of India-made foreign liquor. The estimated value of the seized illegal alcohol amounts to Rs 144 crore. Per the Gujarat Police data, a bottle was seized every four seconds in 2024.The data also revealed that a whopping 4,38,047 bottles of liquor were seized across Ahmedabad city, Ahmedabad rural, and Western Railways Ahmedabad jurisdiction. The largest city of Gujarat, which hosts Gandhi’s Sabarmati Ashram, reported 7,796 cases that involved about 2 lakh liters of country-made liquor bottles. The city also reported 2,139 cases that involved 3.06 lakh liters of IMFL bottles. The highest seizure of IMFL bottles was in Vadodara rural, where the police crackdown led to the discovery of illicit alcohol worth Rs 9.8 crore. These IMFL bottles were hidden in godowns and secret compartments of trucks.
