Arvind S. Inamdar the former DGP of Maharashtra breathed his last at a private hospital today morning. Inamdar (79) was known for his investigation in the much talked about Jalgaon sex scandal and human trafficking case, which came into limelight in the year 1994.
He was instrumental in training and guiding the batch of 1983 encounter specialists policemen, who get rid of the organised crime in the city. Inamdar who served as the DGP from October 1997 to January 2000 was ranked among one of the best IPS officers. Many Twitter users paid their rich tribute to the great officer on their micro - blogging site.
Sad to hear about the demise of former DGP Arvind Inamdar "Police kaka". A close friend of my father, Kaka was a upright police officer. He was transferred 29 times in 35 years of service and was allegedly forced to take VRS a year before it was due. My Salute to a great officer. pic.twitter.com/bCCVtW6dp5
