Jamnagar, Gujarat (April 3, 2025): A Jaguar fighter jet of the Indian Air Force crashed near Jamnagar on Wednesday during during a training mission. The crash occurred around 9:30 p.m. in an open field at Suvarda village, about 12 kilometers from Jamnagar city. according to the reports, one pilot has been rescued and hospitalised, while the other pilot succumbed to injuries. Videos from the crash site show a burning field with the wreckage of the jet scattered in different areas. The cockpit and tail section were seen lying separately, engulfed in flames.

District Collector Ketan Thakkar said that there were no civilian casualties. Firefighters extinguished the flames, and police along with Air Force personnel are searching for the missing pilot.
The Jaguar is a twin-engine fighter bomber, available in both single and twin-seat variants. It has been in service with the IAF since the late 1970s and has undergone multiple upgrades.
This is the second Jaguar crash in recent weeks. On March 7, another Jaguar aircraft went down in Ambala due to a system malfunction. The pilot in that incident ejected safely after steering the jet away from populated areas.
