A tragic road accident in Gujarat’s Banaskantha district claimed the lives of five people, including a couple and their two young sons, while leaving nine others injured. The collision occurred near Amirgadh town around 4:30 pm on February 27, police confirmed.

The accident involved a Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) bus traveling towards Sirohi in Rajasthan and a sports utility vehicle (SUV). According to a preliminary investigation, the SUV driver was allegedly driving carelessly on the wrong side of the highway, leading to the fatal crash.

The deceased include SUV driver Khokharia, his wife Mevliben (28), and their two sons, Rohit (6) and Ritwik (3). Another victim, Sundariben Solanki (60), also lost her life in the collision. All were residents of Dhanpura in Amirgadh taluka.

Amirgadh Police Inspector SK Parmar stated, "The SUV entered the highway from the wrong side and crashed into the oncoming RSRTC bus. Despite the bus driver’s attempt to avoid the collision, the impact was unavoidable." Among the nine injured, six were passengers on the bus. They have been taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. Authorities have launched an investigation into the accident, and further details are awaited.
