Gujarat Tragedy: Boiler Explosion Triggers Massive Fire at Firecracker Factory in Banaskantha; 5 Dead, Several Injured
Banaskantha, Gujarat (April 1, 2025): 5 people have been killed in a fire at a firecracker factory in the GIDC area of Deesa, Gujarat. The fire broke out early on Tuesday morning after a boiler explosion. Initial reports suggest that three deaths at the scene. However, the death Banaskantha Collector Mihir Patel said five workers died on the spot and four injured workers were referred to different hospitals. "Today morning, we got information of a large explosion in the industrial area in Deesa. The Fire Department rushed to the site and controlled the fire. Five workers died on the spot of the incident. Four injured workers were referred to different hospitals. The explosion was so huge that the slab of the factory collapsed. We are conducting a search operation to rescue any person who might be buried under debris," he said.

The fire quickly spread through the facility, which stored flammable materials. Local firefighters arrived at the scene and worked to control the blaze. Rescue teams are still searching the area to ensure no one else is trapped.

According to media reports, local officials, including MLA Pravin Mali, have visited the site. They confirmed that part of the building collapsed during the explosion. Efforts to rescue those trapped in the debris are continuing. The cause of the fire remains under investigation as authorities continue their efforts to manage the situation.
