A woman and her lover were arrested by the police for attempting to kill her husband by hitting and dragging him under the vehicle in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior. The man identified as Anil Pal received serious injuries after he was dragged by a car being driven by his wife and her lover for about 50 metres.
The incident was first reported to be a hit-and-run case, but later, after further investigation, it was revealed that a car purposely ran over it in the busy road of broad daylight in Gwalior city. The CCTV footage of the incident also surfaced online and went viral. According to the India Today report, the incident took place on March 21 under the jurisdiction of the Jhansi Road police station.
Wife and Lover Tried to Kill Husband in MP
After treatment of his injuries, Anil was discharged from the hospital and filed a police complaint stating that his wife Rajni Pal and her lover Mangal Singh Kushwah tried to take his life. Anil runs a stationery shop from his house and the couple got married in 2016.
The couple has three children, two daughters and a son. Everything was normal until Rajni started going to her maternal home frequently on the pretext of conflicts. Anil grew suspicious and found out about Rajni’s long-standing affair with her maternal neighbour Mangal Singh Kushwah, which reportedly began before their marriage.

According to the report, Rajni left home claiming to suffer from stomach pain and said she was going for treatment. When she did not return by 6 pm, Anil went looking for her and spotted her getting out of a blue car at the bus stand. When Anil tried to stop the car, they were allegedly trying to run him over intentionally and dragged him under the car for several meters.
Onlookers admitted Anil to the hospital and informed police about the accident. After being discharged from the hospital, he approached the police and submitted CCTV video, demanding action against them. Following investigation and verification of the footage, police confirmed that the incident was indeed an attempted murder.
After a month-long search, Gwalior Police arrested both Rajni and Mangal Singh Kushwah. The accused were presented before the court and have now been remanded to judicial custody.
