Health Ministry: Total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases across India is 147
The 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic was confirmed to have spread to India on 30 January 2020 from China. There have since been a total of 147 confirmed cases in the country, with many of them having travel history either with Italy or the Middle East.

The Health Minsitry has imposed fresh travel restrictions, prohibiting entry of passengers from the EU countries and the UK from March 18.
With positive cases of COVID-19 showing an increase, the government has proposed a set of social distancing measures to be in force till March 31.
