Rajasthan is experiencing serves heatwave as state records 44 degrees Celsius. Taking into consideration the IMD dept has issued a red alert. According to the Jaipur Meteorological Centre, the maximum temperature across most parts of the state is currently hovering between 38 degree Celsius to 42 degree celsius 2 to 4 degrees above the seasonal average.
Northwest India, including Delhi, southern Haryana, western Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and western Madhya Pradesh, will experience a heatwave for the next six days, with Delhi potentially reaching 42°C by April 6 or 7, according to the IMD. Rajasthan will see maximum temperatures between 41°C and 44°C in its western, southern, and eastern regions from April 5-9, prompting a heatwave alert expanding to 23 districts by April 8.

The IMD also forecasts above-normal temperatures across India from April to June, particularly in central, eastern, and northwestern plains. Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha may face prolonged heatwaves lasting 10-11 days, significantly exceeding the norm. Other states expected to experience above-normal heatwave days include Rajasthan, Gujarat, Haryana, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, northern Karnataka, and parts of Tamil Nadu. The IMD advises the public to take precautions, avoid direct sunlight during peak hours, and urges authorities to prepare for potential health impacts.
