Heatwave Warning in Gujarat: IMD Ahmedabad Predicts Temperatures to Rise to 40-42 Degrees Celsius Until March 13

The regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) Ahmedabad predicted that the maximum day time temperature in several districts of Gujarat is most likely to touch 40-42 Degrees Celsius. Speaking to the news agency ANI, head of IMD  Ahmedabad Ashok Kumar Das on Monday said the Saurashtra, Kutch, and North Gujarat regions will see a rise in temperature for the next three days.

Das said that a similar warning is also in place for the South Gujarat region for the next three days. "The current forecast for Gujarat is that for the next 3 days, it is predicted to be around 40-42 degrees Celsius. This forecast is for the Saurashtra, Kutch, and North Gujarat regions. Similar temperatures are predicted in some isolated areas of the South Gujarat region as well. For the next 3 days, we have also given a warning of heat," Ashok Kumar Das told ANI.

According to the weather department's prediction, heatwave conditions are very likely to prevail in the districts of Banaskantha, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Surat, Surendranagar, Rajkot, Porbandar, Junagadh, Morbi, Amreli, Gir Somnath, and Kachchh, reported The Indian Express. 

Hot and humid air is very likely to prevail over the coastal areas of South Gujarat and Saurashtra-Kachchh from March 10 to 12, causing “discomfort.”
