Himachal Pradesh Health Department Issues Advisory to District Units on COVID JN.1 Variant
In response to the identification of the COVID-19 variant JN.1 in the nation, the health department of Himachal Pradesh has issued an advisory to the chief medical officers within the state. The directive emphasizes testing individuals exhibiting symptoms similar to Covid and implementing essential precautions, according to officials.
On Tuesday, Una Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sanjeev Kumar advised individuals experiencing symptoms such as cold, fever, or cough to undergo a Covid test. Additionally, he also urged people to wear masks.
In cases of respiratory diseases like influenza, cough, cold, sore throat, runny nose, headache and fever, all patients should get an RT-PCR test done immediately, doctors said. In the latest COVID-19 update from India, the Health Ministry reported 412 new cases on Tuesday, pushing the nation's active cases to 4,170. The death toll climbed to 5,33,337, with three new fatalities reported from Karnataka within 24 hours. The overall COVID-19 tally in India now stands at 4,50,09,660.
