Hospital employees flee from hospital fearing spread of coronavirus from patients who travelled to affected countries

Amid the rising scare of coronavirus scare in the state a staff of a government hospital fled after knowing that patients with travel history to coronavirus countries were admitted in the hospital. According to reports, around 11 people ran away from the hospital with majority of them being employees of the hospital who were on duty to look after the patients affected from coronavirus. A probe has been ordered by the Raigad District Magistrate. The incident is said to have occured in the Panvel region. 

The total number of coronavirus cases has jumped to 110 in the country, with Maharashtra being the worst-hit with 38 cases. Italy recorded its biggest daily death toll from the novel coronavirus, which has now claimed over 6,000 lives worldwide, forcing European governments to further tighten controls. The latest person to have tested positive has a travel history to Dubai. PM M Narendra Modi on Monday said there has been a coordinated response to the coronavirus outbreak and asserted that "no stone is being left unturned" to ensure people are healthy.
