A couple died by suicide after killing their two children in Hyderabad's Habsiguda area. Both a 44-year-old husband and a 35-year-old wife took their own lives allegedly due to financial crisis on Monday night, March 11. The bodies of the couple were found in separate rooms, while their minor children were found dead on the bed.
According to the Osmania University police station’s inspector, N Rajender, the incident took place at around 9:30 pm at their residence at Ravindranagar Colony in the Habsiguda area. After receiving the information, police rushed to the spot and began investigating.
Initial reports suggest that the couple had first strangled their children to death, before taking their own lives. The suicide was also found in one of the rooms, written by a man, said the police in a note, which revealed that he was suffering from financial problems and health issues.
The bodies were sent to the Gandhi Hospital for post mortem and the police are investigating the case. The police officer said the family, originally from Mukuralla village of Kalwakurthy block in Mahabubnagar district, had moved to Habsiguda a year ago. The man had previously worked as a lecturer in a private college but was unemployed for the past six months.

The employment had led to severe financial distress for the family, which might have led to the mass suicides. In the note, the man expressed deep distress over his deteriorating career and worsening health.
“No one is responsible for my death. I had no other option but to end my life. Please forgive me. I have been struggling in my career and suffering physically and mentally. I have been battling diabetes, nerve-related issues, and kidney diseases,” he said in the note, written in Telugu, reported Hindustan Times.
