India records 18,840 new COVID cases in last 24 hours, 43 deaths

India reported 18,840 new COVID cases in the last 24 hours with a daily case positivity rate of 4.14 per cent, as per the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Saturday.

With this, the active caseload in the country stands at 1,25,028.

According to the Ministry, 16,104 COVID patients recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours taking the total number of recoveries in the country to 4,29,53,980. The recovery rate currently is 98.51 per cent.

As many as 43 patients succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 5,25,386.

A total of 4,54,778 COVID samples were tested during this period. 86.61 crore tests have been conducted in the country so far.

Under the nationwide vaccination drive, 12,26,795 COVID vaccines were administered in the last 24 hours. A total of 1,98,65,36,288 vaccines have been jabbed so far.
