Padma Vibhushan Pandit Jasraj has passed away at the age of 90. Pandit Jasraj breathed his last in New Jersey, the United States.

Jasraj was an Indian classical vocalist, belonging to the Mewati gharana. Born on 28 January 1930, his musical career spanned for more than 80 years and led to numerous major awards and honours including Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan.

At the age of four, he started taking classical music lessons from his father Pandit Motiram. His performances of classical and semi-classical vocals have become albums and film soundtracks.
