Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections 2024: Congress Releases Third List of Candidates for Upcoming Polls

The Congress party released its third list of candidates for the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections 2024 on Monday. The list features 19 candidates, including Ch Lal Singh from Basohli, Irfan Hafeez Lone from Wagoora-Kreeri, and Summit Mangotra from Udhampur West.

Other notable candidates are Manohar Lal Sharma from Billawar, Balbir Singh from Nagrota, and Thakur Manmohan Singh from Jammu West. The list also includes Yogesh Sawhney from Jammu East, Raman Bhalla from RS Pura-Jammu South, and Krishan Dev Singh from Samba.

This announcement follows the Congress’s seat-sharing agreement with the National Conference (NC). Under the deal, NC will contest 51 seats, and Congress will field candidates in 32 seats for the assembly polls.

The first phase of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections is scheduled for September 18, with subsequent phases on September 25 and October 1. The counting of votes will take place on October 8.
