A gang rape incident has caused an uproar in Jharkhand's Khunti district, where five minor girls were kidnapped, and three of them were gang-raped by 18 minor boys. Of the five kidnapped girls, two managed to escape and reached their village, where they recounted their harrowing experience, prompting the police to take action. All the accused have since been arrested.

Superintendent of Police in Khunti, Aman Kumar, reported that the incident occurred on Friday night as the girls were returning home after attending a wedding ceremony in the Rania area. During their journey, a group of young men chased and abducted all five girls, taking them to a secluded location in the mountains. Two of the girls bravely bit the hands of their captors and managed to escape. The remaining three were gang-raped by the group before being abandoned in the forest.

After escaping, the girls returned to their village and informed their parents about the incident. The villagers then accompanied the victims to the police station to report the crime. Among the five girls, three were aged between 12 and 16, while the accused ranged from 12 to 17 years old. Acting on the victims' complaint, the police quickly registered a case and conducted medical examinations for the girls. A team was formed to locate the suspects, leading to their arrest. On Monday, all the accused were sent to a juvenile reform home. The villagers expressed their outrage and demanded strict punishment for those involved in this heinous act.

This incident is not isolated; in September of the previous year, a tribal minor girl was also kidnapped and gang-raped by six individuals in Khunti district while returning home from school. During that incident, the girl was pursued by two men on motorcycles who forcibly abducted her and assaulted her in the forest. Despite her attempts to scream for help, her cries were silenced when a cloth was stuffed in her mouth, and she was threatened with death to keep her quiet.
