Kalaburagi Accident: 5 Killed, 10 Injured After Bus Rams Into Parked Truck Near Nelogi Cross in Karnataka
Five people were killed and 10 were injured in an accident that took place in the Kalaburagi district of Karnataka in the early hours of Saturday, April 5. The incident occurred near Nelogi cross when a speeding passenger bus collided with a parked truck.
The accident took place at around 3.30 am, leaving five dead and 10 others injured. The deceased have been identified as residents of the Bagalkote district. The injured passengers were transferred to a nearby hospital in Kalaburagi. Kalaburagi SP A Srinivasulu visited the spot and conducted the investigation. Police have registered a case at Nelogi police station, said Kalaburagi police.

According to the information, more than 26 people were travelling in a vehicle at the time of the accident. The bus is said to have hit a lorry parked on the road with a puncture from behind. While four people died on the spot, another succumbed to his injuries at a hospital in Kalaburagi. Many of the injured have been admitted to Kalaburagi and Jewargi hospitals for treatment.
The bus was on its way to Khaja Bandenawaz Dargah in Kalaburagi from Bagalkot to attend a religious function. Jewargi and Nelogi police visited and inspected the spot.
