Kerala Accident: Man Dies After Being Hit by Truck and Car While Rescuing Kitten on Busy Road

A young man lost his life after being hit by a truck and a car while trying to save a kitten stuck on the road. The tragic incident has left many grieving, as the man died despite his efforts to rescue the animal. The kitten survived, but the man, identified as Shijo, did not. Shijo, a resident of Kallathode, stopped his bike on the roadside around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday to save the kitten. As he ran to move the kitten away from the road, he stepped into the middle of the street. Before the truck driver could react, the vehicle hit Shijo, throwing him onto the road. A car coming from the opposite direction then ran over him.

The entire incident was captured on CCTV. Shijo was rushed to a private hospital in Thrissur but could not be saved. The truck driver fled the scene, and police have registered a case and begun an investigation.

Last month, a similar incident took place near Nandgaon in Maharashtra’s Latur district. A bus overturned while trying to avoid a speeding motorcycle crossing the road, leaving 25 passengers injured. The bus was traveling from Ahmedpur to Latur when the driver swerved to avoid the bike and crashed into the divider. The accident resulted in the bus overturning and causing multiple injuries.
