Kerala man caught smuggling 1kg gold under synthetic wig

A Kerala man was arrested in Mumbai while he was trying to smuggle gold worth Rs 27 lakh by hiding it in his wig.

A Kerala man was arrested in Mumbai while he was trying to smuggle gold worth Rs 27 lakh by hiding it in his wig.  The man has been identified as Salauddin Karatluchal. He was allegedly hiding 1 kilogram of gold in dust form. Salauddin was intercepted by officials of the Air Intelligence Unit of Customs.  He was walking through the green channel when the officials intercepted him. 

The officials checked the 23-year-old man's luggage but did not find anything. However, the officials touched his hair and found it was synthetic a wig.  According to a report in Times of India, during interrogation, Salauddin confessed that he was smuggling gold on behalf of two men. He also claimed that Muneer and Ashiq had offered to pay Rs 20,000 to him for smuggling the gold and had even paid for his trip to Dubai.
