Kolkata: Man Sends 300+ COD Orders to Ex-Girlfriend’s in Revenge After Breakup Over Expensive Gifts

After a breakup with his girlfriend, a young man sought revenge in a way that made his ex-girlfriend's life difficult. The woman ended their relationship because he did not give her expensive gifts. In response, the ex-boyfriend started sending cash-on-delivery orders to her house as an act of revenge. Over four months, more than 300 orders were delivered to her from Amazon and Flipkart. Every time, the woman returned the parcels. Eventually, both were blacklisted by the e-commerce companies. Fed up with the situation, the woman filed a police complaint.

The woman, who works at a national bank’s Lake Town branch in Kolkata, had been in a relationship with the man from Nadia district. A few months ago, they broke up. After the breakup, the ex-boyfriend decided to teach her a lesson. Since November, he began sending expensive parcels to her house through online shopping platforms. All the orders were cash-on-delivery, forcing the woman to return them repeatedly. In the investigation, it was revealed that the ex-boyfriend, Suman Sikdar, had sent over 300 COD orders to her home.

The woman had wanted expensive gifts, which she often demanded from her boyfriend. When her demands were not met, she broke up with him. The man, in retaliation, wanted to show her the cost of buying such gifts. He admitted to police that he wanted her to understand how expensive it was to buy high-end gifts.

From November, the man sent mobile phones, tablets, and other expensive items. During Valentine’s week in February, different products arrived daily at the woman’s house. This continued until March. Once Amazon and Flipkart blocked the woman, she approached the police. On Wednesday, the police arrested the man and produced him in court, where he was granted bail.
