Ladli Behna Scheme: AAP’s Atishi Demands Meeting with Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Over Rs 2,500 Aid

AAP leader Atishi has sought a meeting between Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs and newly sworn-in Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta to discuss the ₹2,500 monthly financial aid promised to women by the BJP during its election campaign. In a letter to Gupta on Saturday, Atishi questioned why the scheme was not approved in the new government’s first cabinet meeting, despite Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself promising it during an election rally. She emphasized that the people of Delhi, especially women, are now waiting for the BJP to fulfill its commitment.

Rekha Gupta and her council of ministers took the oath of office on Thursday after the BJP’s victory in the recent Delhi Assembly elections, marking the party’s return to power in the capital after 26 years. However, with the new government settling in, opposition leaders are already pressing for the fulfillment of key election promises.

Atishi’s letter signals that the AAP will continue to hold the BJP accountable for its campaign commitments. It remains to be seen how the new Delhi government responds to this demand and whether the financial aid scheme will be implemented as promise
