Instagram Reels have become a popular trend for many, but a recent incident has highlighted the dangers of filming without caution. A shocking event unfolded at The Legacy Plaza in Gwalior, where a gas leak explosion caused severe damage to the building. The explosion occurred on the first floor and is believed to have been triggered by a gas leak while two individuals were filming a Reel. Ranjana Rana and Anil Rana were reportedly making a Reel about the gas leak when Anil ignited a lighter, which caused the explosion.
Both were seriously injured and rushed to the hospital for treatment. The explosion damaged several flats in the building, destroying windows, doors, and vehicles parked outside. Police have launched an investigation into the incident. At around 2 AM, a powerful explosion rocked the seven-story Legacy Plaza. The blast was so intense that many residents mistook it for a bomb or an earthquake. The building shook violently, and people fled in panic. Ranjana and Anil, who were on the first floor, were severely burned and immediately taken to the hospital.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the explosion was caused by a gas leak from an LPG cylinder. While filming the Reel, Anil accidentally lit a lighter, triggering the explosion. The damage was extensive, with Ranjana’s flat suffering the most destruction. Nearby flats had their windows and doors ripped off, and more than 100 flats were affected. Additionally, the windows of over 15 vehicles were shattered.
Anil’s brother has raised suspicions, claiming that the explosion may have been part of a larger conspiracy. He stated that Ranjana had called Anil over at 9 PM, despite previously accusing him of stealing her necklace. He believes the incident could have been planned. The flat where the explosion occurred is owned by Ranjana and her husband, Sanjeev. Ranjana also owns another flat in the building, purchased five months ago. Sanjeev, who lives in the village, had rented out the flat 20 days ago, and it was vacated on Monday.
