Devotees from all over India struggle to reach Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh to attend and take a holy dip in Triveni Sangam during the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela 2025. Over 45 crore people have already attended the religious gatherings since the beginning, and more to visit until February 26, 2025.
Devotees who have travelled from Bihar and Madhya Pradesh have witnessed over 300 kilometres of traffic and have been stuck for 2 to 3 days in traffic jams to reach Prayagraj district by road. Some people have taken a 10—to 15-kilometer walk to reach Mahakumb. The police and District administration of Prayagraj and Madhya Pradesh have warned commuters to avoid the route due to the overcrowding of pilgrims.
Prayagraj was also declared as no parking zone for vehicles coming from outside. However, police later stated that the traffic was running stable with no increase in junctions within the city and no major issues reported. Still afraid of waiting for long hours in vehicular traffic and following the below-mentioned routes.
