The ongoing Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, is drawing devotees to various religious sites in the state, particularly Ayodhya, where Ram Lal was coronated last year. Many devotees are standing in long lines for darshan and making significant donations to the temple.
In the past 20 days alone, donations to the Ram Temple have reached such a volume that they have not yet been counted. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirth Kshetra Trust reports that over Rs 700 crore has been collected through various donation counters in the last year. Nripendra Mishra, Chairman of the Ram Temple Creation Committee, noted that the surge in donations over the past 20 days has been so substantial that counting them is impractical. Lakhs of pilgrims attending the Mahakumbh Mela are arriving in Ayodhya, with many unable to reach the donation box and leaving their contributions on temple grounds.
Prakash Gupta, in charge of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust office, stated that since construction began, donations from devotees have been consistent, with people contributing as much as they can. Over the past year, the Ram Temple has received more than Rs 700 crore in donations.
