Another shocking case similar to the Saurabh Rajput murder has emerged in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut district, where a woman along with her lover, killed her husband and staged the crime scene to make it appear like a snakebite incident. However, the post-mortem report exposed the gruesome truth.
Amit Kashyap alias Mickey (25), a resident of Akbarpur Sadat village, did not die due to a viper bite as initially, as per the initial investigation. Instead, he was strangled to death by his wife Ravita and her lover Amardeep. The duo then placed a live poisonous snake on Amit’s bed to mislead investigators and portray the death as accidental.
Amit's body was discovered on Sunday morning, lying on his bed with a live snake underneath. At least ten snakebite marks on his body, leading the family to believe that he had died from multiple bites. A snake charmer was called, who captured the snake, which was later released into the forest by the forest department.

However, when police reviewed the post-mortem report on Wednesday, it revealed that Amit had died of suffocation—not from a snakebite. This finding raised suspicions, and the police launched a detailed investigation.
Later that night, Amit's wife and her boyfriend were taken into custody. Initially, both tried to mislead the police, but under interrogation, they confessed to the crime. According to police, Amardeep had purchased the viper from a snake charmer in Mahmoodpur Sikheda village for Rs 1,000. On the night of the murder, they strangled Amit in his sleep and then placed the snake under his body. The snake, under pressure, bit Amit several times.
Ravita acted according to their plan the next morning and tried to pass off the murder as a snakebite death. The villagers, however, were already suspicious due to rumours of an ongoing affair between Ravita and Amardeep, and their suspicions proved true after the post-mortem results.
