Mysuru student shot dead in California

25-year old Mysuru student Abhishek Sudesh Bhat was shot dead by an unidentifed person on Thursday. The deceased was pursuing a Masters degree in Computer Science at California State University in San Bernardino. According to reports, the youngster was killed while he was returning home from work. Abhishek's body is lying in an San Bernardino hospital morgue. Meanwhile, the family is yet to receive an official report from the Indian embassy in the US. 

The family was informed about their son's death by one of his colleagues who was working along with Abhishek at a part-time motel. One of the family members said CCTV cameras near the motel had captured the attack and the US police were trying to ascertain the identity of the attacker. The California State University principal is said to have spoken to Abhishek's parents. It is reported that Abhishek was appointed as a teaching assistant to Dr. Ernesto Gomez at the California State University, San Bernardino College of Natural Sciences, from October 31.
