A team of Tihar jail officials reached Meerut on Tuesday o escort hangman Pawan Jallad to Delhi for the fourth time. Pawan was provided security by a team of Delhi Police that travelled along with Tihar Jail officials.The jail officials have prepared the gallows for the dummy hanging of the four convicts which would be conducted on Wednesday in presence of PWD officials. 

Jail sources said that Pawan would be staying in a special barrack allotted for him at jail number 3 near the hanging well. He would be made to sign the contract for hanging the four convicts after which he would be allowed to inspect the gallows.The Tihar authorities have procured a set of eight Manila roopes, one each of which would be used for the hanging while the other would be kept on a standby. Jail sources said that the hangman would be paid at least Rs. 20,000 for each of the hangings. Pawan is  among the very few officially registered professional hangmen in India.
