Earlier, a massive fire erupted at the Sector 32 dumping ground in Noida. Firefighters have been battling the blaze for over six hours. Authorities have warned that it could take several days to fully extinguish the fire. Local residents are reporting breathing difficulties due to the thick smoke.
Pradeep Choubey, Chief Fire Officer, stated that the dumping ground contains horticultural waste, dry leaves, and dry wood. He added that on both sides of the area, there are 30-40 feet stacks of dry wood. By the time firefighters arrived, the fire had already spread extensively.
"The winds are still strong, and we are isolating certain areas," Choubey said. "Firefighting efforts are underway, but it will take time."
