Panaji, March 26 Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Thursday denied reports in a section of the media that Goa had recorded 33 COVID-19 patients in one day.

"This is absolutely false news. We have only three positive confirmed cases in the state. Request you to rectify the same and not create unnecessary panic among the people," Rane tweeted.

On Wednesday, three persons with a history of recent international travel, tested positive for COVID-19. This was the first instance of a positive coronavirus case detected in the state.

All 14 persons who were in contact with the three COVID-19 positive patients have also been quarantined, Rane said.
