Police stops Rahul and Priyanka from meeting families of those killed in CAA protests
Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi and party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra were allegedly stopped by the police on Tuesday when they were going to Meerut to meet the families of those killed in the in violence that broke out during protests against Citizenship Amendment Act.
According to Congress sources, Rahul and Priyanka were to meet the families of those who were killed during the protest against the recently amended citizenship law. Earlier on Sunday, Priyanka had also met in Bijnor the families of two youths who were killed in violence during the protest.
On Monday, Priyanka had described these two youths as 'martyrs' and said that all people should take a pledge that the Constitution will be protected in their name. The Congress is openly opposing the amended citizenship law as 'unconstitutional'.
