Punjab Horror: Dog's Severed Head Found In Momos Factory Fridge During Raid In Mohali
An investigation is underway in Mohali, Punjab, following a raid on a food production unit that revealed shocking unhygienic conditions, including the discovery of a severed dog's head. The shocking find occurred during a joint raid conducted by the district health department and municipal corporation, targeting food production units operating under unhygienic conditions in the region. The factory in Mohali's Mataur village came under scrutiny after authorities became aware of a video depicting the unsanitary conditions within.
During a thorough inspection of the premises, officials discovered the severed head of a dog, believed to be a pug, inside a refrigerator. While the discovery raised immediate concerns about food contamination, officials clarified that the dog's head was not believed to be used in the production of momos and spring rolls. According to reports, unit workers, who are from Nepal, allegedly used the dog head for personal consumption.
The factory had been operating for two years, supplying over a quintal of momos and spring rolls daily to establishments in Chandigarh, Panchkula, and Kalka. Health department teams collected samples of decayed and spoiled meat, as well as other food materials found within the unit, including spring rolls, momos, and sauces. The dog's severed head has been sent to the Veterinary Department for further examination to determine if it was used in the factory's products.
