The Punjab government is adopting Uttar Pradesh and Haryana’s model to deal with the drug trafficking situation in the state. On February 27, the Punjab Police demolished a house owned by a drug peddler in Patiala.
As a part of Punjab’s crackdown on drug peddlers, authorities bulldozed the house of drug trafficker Rinki. Police carried out the demolition process. JCB machines were deployed on the spot.

SSP Nanak Singh said, "The accused woman was involved in drug trafficking from 2016 to 2023 and has over 10 cases registered against her. She allegedly acquired the property using drug money."
As part of the state government's battle on drugs, the state police destroyed the unlawfully constructed homes of two drug smugglers: Rahul Hans of Bhai Himmat Singh Nagar in Dugri in the Ludhiana district, and Sonu of Talwandi village near Ladhowal, on February 24.
